In addition, the fifth prime minister, Lee Nak-yeon, was elected the new representative of the Democratic Party.
On the 29th, the new representative took the place in the regular national delegation contest held at the company in Yeouido, Seoul, with 60.77% of the vote, beating candidates Kim Bu-gyeom and Park Ju-min.
In his acceptance speech at home, the new representative, who is in quarantine, said: “Dear citizens, dear fellow party members. Thank you for your decision, ”he said. He added: “The mission that has been entrusted to me in the national crisis is clear” and “I accept it as ‘Order Five’”.
“I’m going to win the first war against Corona,” Lee said. “If we do not win this war, it is difficult for us to regain peace in our daily lives. To effectively and systematically confront this war, I will expand and reorganize the current National Committee for Disaster Relief and take over as president.”

Lee Nak-yeon, new party representative, acceptance speech
Thank you for your decision. We accept your orders with great responsibility.
I am now giving this speech at my home in Jongno. On day 12 of self-isolation, the body is in good health but the heart is heavy.
My heart is touched by the lives of the people who see through the windows of our house.
The street was almost empty. People are busy. The store is open, but customers rarely come.
This pain will increase for some time. The number of unemployed will increase and their life will be more difficult.
At that time, I was left with the burden of being the representative of the ruling party. We will share our hearts with people and do our best to end this pain as soon as possible.
I would like to express my gratitude and consolation to the candidates Kim Bu-gyeom and Park Joo-min, who have had a good competition.
Congratulations to the new senior committee members who will lead the leadership together. I would like to express my encouragement to the candidates who will prepare for the following.
A special thanks to Chairman Lee Hae-chan and the leadership for leading the party for two years and winning every election.
We also thank Chairman Gyu-baek Ahn, Chairman Hong-cheol Min of the Election Commission, and all duty officers for preparing and managing the convention to the end, even in extremely difficult situations due to the reproliferation of the crown.
Above all, it was the first non-face-to-face convention in the party’s history, but I would like to express my sincere thanks to all members of my party across the country for displaying an unprecedented high turnout.
Korean comrades who respect and love party members!
The mission that you have entrusted to me in this national crisis is clear. I take it as the ‘Five Commands’.
I will dedicate all my abilities to faithfully carry out your orders.
First, I will win the Crown War.
If we don’t win this war, it will be difficult for us to regain daily peace.
In order for the Democratic Party to effectively and systematically confront this war, I will expand and reorganize the current National Committee for Disaster Relief and take over as president.
The Committee for the Overcoming of National Disasters will work closely with the government and will endeavor to overcome this national crisis faster and better by obtaining the full participation of the people.
In addition, we will respond firmly to illegal acts, unjust acts, collective selfishness and fake news that damage the life and safety of people.
Our great people participate in this war determined to be quarantined. With the power of the people so far, we have made a story of miracles.
Once again, we will surely overcome this crisis.
Second, we will protect people’s lives.
Corona 19 damage is widespread. In particular, vulnerable groups, including workers, the self-employed, small business owners and small and medium-sized enterprises, are most affected.
Many office workers and young people worry about life. The sighs of the merchants are deep. Dual-income couples who do not have a place to leave their children are very difficult.
We will start a political-party consultation as soon as possible to help people facing suffering. We will implement Chuseok public welfare measures that go beyond existing methods. Disaster grants will also be discussed.
In addition, we will expand the social safety net, including national employment insurance and unemployment assistance as an institutional device to protect the socially disadvantaged, such as the disadvantaged and those vulnerable to income.
To alleviate the suffering and anxiety of the people, we will work in all directions through the National Committee for Overcoming Disasters, the political-partisan consultations and the National Assembly.
We will take care of the life of each and every one of the citizens and we will treat them with agility.
Third, we will prepare for the future after Corona.
Corona has led humanity into an era of great transformation, transforming the world into a new standard, a new order.
The great transformation is not a matter of our choice. Our choice is just a question of how we will survive in this age of great transformation.
Our crown defense has been evaluated as a model for the world. Following household appliances and semiconductors, popular music and movies, games and webtoons, we have become a global benchmark in the treatment of infectious diseases.
Now we have to jump to world class in other fields, and we can take a leap forward. We will prepare in advance to pioneer and expand such promising fields.
The Korean version of the New Deal, focusing on the Digital New Deal and the Green New Deal, is the basis for future preparation.
The K-New Deal Committee of the Democratic Party will be in charge of the domestic representative, and we will increase the speed and effectiveness of the Korean New Deal by linking with the National Assembly.
I have proposed the New Deal of Balanced Development as an essential concept for the Korean version of the New Deal.
We repeatedly request that balanced national development be considered the most important in the selection and budget allocation of the Korean version of the New Deal.
We are the only country in the world that has overcome war and poverty and achieved industrialization and democratization in a short period of time. Again we can.
Fourth, I will move on to integration policy.
To overcome national difficulties and prepare for the future, we must rally the power of the people. There cannot be separate games and camps for that matter. We believe that the unity policy is necessary and possible.
The first opposition party is now trying to change policy and break with the theater company. It is a welcome thing.
The Democratic Party will also strengthen its integration efforts. Keeping the principles, we will make a concession to the opposition party.
As the distance between the two parties grows closer, the number of issues that can be agreed through dialogue will increase. We will rush to legislate in search of consensus issues.
First of all, we request that the four special committees, which are approached by the opinions of the opposition parties, such as the emergency economy, balanced generation, energy and low birth rates, be put into operation as soon as possible.
Fifth, we will accelerate innovation.
Just as a great transformation is not an object of choice, innovation is not an object of choice. The same is true of all sectors, including the economic and political.
The Moon Jae-in administration proposed “innovative growth” as one of the national strategies. Innovative growth must be maintained and strengthened.
We will support on the one hand to promote innovative growth, while on the other hand, we will reform or relax regulations.
The Democratic Party will be renewed to more closely sympathize with the suffering in all walks of life and treat it with greater precision.
As part of that, we will institutionalize youth and women to participate in the party’s decision-making process. We will expand and activate the Policy Committee.
In addition, we will make the Democratic Party a competent, agile and humble party in front of the people.
All we have to do is have the ability to get things done, the agility to respond quickly to problems and, in any case, we will have the humility to humble ourselves by understanding people’s hearts.
We will put all our efforts to fulfill the above ‘5 Great Orders’. In doing so, we will lay the foundation for the success of Moon Jae-in’s administration and the re-creation of the regime. We will make Korea a “first-class country where we will live well together.”
Among the ‘Five Orders’, the most urgent is the overcoming of Crown 19 and the economic and social difficulties derived from it, namely the national crisis.
I will replace my resolve with him with what Winston Churchill said during World War II.
If you ask what our purpose is, I will answer you in a word. It’s a victory. ‘
Thank you.
