Is the rest area still occupied?

[기자]

As the lunch breaks roll in, the number of visitors to the rest area increases considerably.

You can buy snacks or watch them take a break.

Special quarantine measures have been applied to this Lunar New Year holiday as in the last Chuseok.

Food cannot be eaten in indoor stores, and food must be wrapped and served in a car or outdoor table with a clear screen.

Also, there are staff wearing yellow vests at various locations to guide you on how to keep your distance.

Fever screening and check-in / check-out should also be done under the guidance of the agent.

Quarantine authorities called for strict adherence to the rules, saying that cases of not wearing a mask while traveling during the holiday season, eating at a rest area and not completing an access list were received through the security newspaper.

Will we find out the road conditions?

[기자]

You can view it as typical weekend-level traffic.

The downline looks smooth.

As of 11 in the morning the congestion began in some sections of the ascending line.

The area around the Seocho interchange to Seoul on the Gyeongbu Line is congested, but the rest of the main sections are still largely not blocked.

If you leave now, it takes about 5 hours from Busan to the Seoul toll gate, 3 and a half hours from Gwangju, and about an hour and 40 minutes from Daejeon.

Congestion will peak around 3 or 4 PM and will resolve between 9 PM and 10 PM.

Currently, 3.49 million vehicles are expected to move across the country.

The number of cars entering the metropolitan area is expected to be 370,000, a decrease of 24% compared to the last vacation.

The government predicts that 29.2 million people will move about 33% over last year during the Lunar New Year holidays.

We hope that all those who have visited your hometown and those who have made a commitment to follow the quarantine regulations thoroughly and safely will end the Lunar New Year holidays.
