[속보] 403 new cases of coronavirus … 11 deaths increased

On the 11th, the first day of the Lunar New Year holiday, there were 403 confirmed cases of a new coronavirus infection (Corona 19) in Korea.

The Central Defense Response Headquarters (Bangdaebon) announced that as of 0 o’clock on the 12th, the number of new confirmed corona19 cases in Korea increased by 403, amassing 8.2837. The number decreased by 101 from the previous day (504) and fell back to 400 a day after it rose to 500.

The number of new confirmed cases, which had recently fallen to the level of the late 200s, spiked to the level of 500 the day before and then fell to 400 on this day. However, the decrease in confirmed cases appears to be due to the decrease in the number of tests during the Christmas season.

By region, a total of 299 people in the metropolitan area, including 155 in Seoul, 103 in Gyeonggi and 41 in Incheon, accounted for 77.9% of all confirmed cases in the area. In the non-capital area, there were 25 people in Busan, 11 people in Daegu, 10 people in Chungnam, 6 people each in Gwangju, Gangwon and Chungbuk, 4 people each in Jeonnam, Gyeongbuk, Gyeongnam, Jeju, 2 people in Sejong , Jeonbuk and 1 in Daejeon.

By infection route, local outbreaks were 384 and foreign entries were 19. During the last week (2.6 to 12), the number of new confirmed cases per day was 393 → 371 → 288 → 303 → 444 → 504 → 403. During this period, there are 200 units 1, 300 units 3 times, 400 units 2 times, and 500 units 1 time.

The day before, 11 people died from Corona 19, and the cumulative number of deaths increased to 1,507.

The number of inspections decreased significantly due to the Lunar New Year holidays. The number of exams through the screening clinic the day before was 23,337, 16,624 less than the day before (39,985). The positive rate, calculated in comparison with the number of tests the day before, was 1.73% (403 of 233361), compared to 1.26% (504 of 39985) the day before.
