Flights and ferry operations are also causing some disruptions.

We will inform you about the fog situation previously announced by the Meteorological Administration starting at 9:10 am.

Some areas in the metropolitan area and Chungcheong area in the interior of Gangwon have fogs with a visibility of less than 200 m, and fog with a visibility of less than 1 km has occurred in other areas of the interior.

Looking at the visibility by region, in the metropolitan area, Incheon Yeongjongdo 40m, Hwaseong Unpyeong 130m, Gangwon-do in Yanggu 60m, Chuncheon Namsan 150m, Chungcheong Buyeo area 60m, Nonsan Yeonmu 60m, Seocheon 70m, Hongseong 90m, etc.

In particular, due to the influence of fog from the west sea, thick fog is expected to continue until around 12:00 noon on the west central coast.

There may be sections where the visibility distance is very short from Seohae Bridge, Yeongjong Bridge, and Incheon Bridge, so passersby should be careful about safety.

Flight disruptions are also expected due to heavy fog.

At 9 o’clock, five flights from abroad were unable to get off at Incheon Airport due to fog and landed at Gimpo Airport, Cheongju, and Jeju Airport.

At Incheon Airport, the second phase of low visibility operation takes effect at 2:40 a.m.

This action is taken if the visibility of the runway is less than 550 m.

In Low Visibility Phase 2, landing of all aircraft is not restricted, but takeoff and landing may be restricted depending on the aircraft class or the pilot’s capabilities, the airport explained.

Sea road conditions are also affected by heavy fog and bad weather.

According to the Incheon Port Operations Management Center, the visibility of the Incheon shoreline at 9 am is less than 300 meters.

Also, high waves and strong winds blow in the distant Incheon seas.

As a result, the operation of four passenger ships on four routes from Incheon to Baengnyeongdo and from Sammok to Yeongjongdo to Jangbong was controlled.

Additionally, 10 passenger ships on the remaining eight routes, including Yeonpyeong Island from Incheon and Deokjeok Island from Incheon, will also be waiting for the fog to dissipate.

The Port of Incheon Operations Management Center advised: ‘For some routes, passengers should contact the shipping company first, as it can resume operation of passenger ships when the fog clears.

So far, the Ministry of Social Affairs has handed it over.
