European Union (EU) countries condemned Russia’s imposition of deportation orders on German, Swedish and Polish diplomats on the 5th (local time) as an unfair step and warned that they would respond if they did not reconsider.

According to AFP and Reuters, German Chancellor Angela Merkel said the day that “we view this deportation as unjust” and “this shows that Russia is far from the rule of law.”

German Foreign Minister Heiko Mas said in a statement that “Russia’s decision to expel several diplomats from the EU is unjustified and will further undermine relations with Europe.” He cautioned that he would respond if the decision is not reconsidered.

The Polish Foreign Ministry, Tas said, protested against the Russian ambassador to the country and called for a review of the decision, otherwise it would discuss with other EU member states and warn that there would be a corresponding action.

The Swedish Foreign Ministry also told AFP that Russia’s decision was “absolutely unfounded” and that it has the right to respond appropriately.

French President Emmanuel Macron said: “I very strongly condemn Russia’s actions on the Navalni issue, from the poisoning and arrest of Navalni to the expulsion of diplomats from EU countries.”

On the same day, the Russian Foreign Ministry issued a deportation order designating Swedish, Polish and German diplomats residing in their countries as diplomatic evasions.

The Russian Foreign Ministry explained the reason for the deportation because they participated in illegal protests calling for the release of Russian opposition activist Alexey Navalni.

Russia’s announcement of the day came in the middle of a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, a senior EU foreign affairs and security policy representative Josef, who visited Moscow to discuss issues of improving the mutual relations and cooperation.

Borel said he strongly condemned the deportation of diplomats by Russia.

Navalni, one of President Vladimir Putin’s static representatives, collapsed during a flight in August last year, showing symptoms of intoxication poisoning, and returned to Russia last month after receiving medical treatment in Germany, but was immediately arrested for authorities immediately after returning to Korea. .

A Russian court recently sentenced Navalni to three years and six months in prison. In 2014, he was imprisoned for failing to comply with the conditions of probation related to involvement in the fraud case.

Consequently, Western countries, including the EU, demand the immediate release of Navalni and criticize him.
