In relation to a nursing hospital in Incheon where a bunch of new coronavirus (Corona 19) infections were confirmed, four additional cases of infection were confirmed, including residents and employees.
Incheon City announced on the 4th that all 61 people, including 4 confirmed patients related to a nursing hospital in Gyeyang-gu, had tested positive for Corona 19.
Of these, 35 were contacts with existing confirmed cases and 9 cases were related to small group infections in the region.
Three people who entered Korea from abroad were also confirmed. The route of infection for the remaining 14 people has not yet been revealed and an epidemiological investigation is underway.
At a nursing hospital in Gyeyang-gu, where the COVID-19 infection occurred, four more people, including residents and workers, received positive tests and the number of related cases rose to 52.
The hospital, which occupies the first to third floors of a 10-story building, has 113 beds in 36 rooms, including single and double rooms and shared rooms.
To this day, 75 people, including residents, were identified as quarantined in the same group (cohort).
Of the 75 subjects in quarantine, 12 were admitted. It was found that 45 patients and 18 workers who have not been confirmed are also in cohort quarantine.
Many of the confirmed patients in nursing hospitals were transferred to dedicated infectious disease hospitals and life treatment centers, but some of them were reported to remain in nursing hospitals because they needed treatment such as hemodialysis.
Regarding another case of group infection, a food processing business in Jung-gu, Incheon, three additional people who were in self-isolation tested positive, and the confirmed cumulative number increased to 38.
In relation to the Namdong-gu religious center and the western nursing home, which were previously classified as group infection cases, an additional person tested positive and the number of related cumulative confirmed cases rose to 32 and 39.
As one person confirmed by corona19 was confirmed to have died that day, the cumulative death toll in Incheon rose to 31.
The confirmed man, a man in his 70s, died the day before while receiving treatment at a hospital after a sample was tested for suspicious Corona 19 symptoms and tested positive on the 12th of last month.
The number of new confirmed cases by region was Bupyeong-gu, 27, Jung-gu, 8, Seo-gu, Yeonsu-gu, 6, Namdong-gu, Gyeyang-gu, 5, and Michuhol-gu.
As of the evening of the previous day, 39 of the 48 seriously ill hospital beds in Incheon were used, with an operation rate of 81.3%.
298 out of 417 dedicated infectious disease hospital beds are used in Incheon, and the utilization rate is 71.5%.
To date, there are 3,172 confirmed cumulative cases of corona19 in Incheon.
