Recently, as the number of shared electric skateboard users increases, the parking disorder of electric skateboards is emerging as a new social problem. The shared electric skateboard is a new transportation concept that citizens can easily rent and return via a mobile phone app, regardless of time and location. Shared electric scooters are known as an environmentally friendly and sustainable means of transportation, and users are increasing rapidly, but the problem of parking clutter is practically neglected. The revised Road Traffic Law, which has been in effect since the 10th, did not include regulations on the order of use, such as the parking rules for shared electric scooters.

The reason for this problem is that a shared electric skateboard operator or local government is working on the parking problem. In the case of Daejeon, 6 companies currently operate 1,200 electric scooters, but no one has found a suitable countermeasure to the problem of parking electric scooters. This situation is similar anywhere in the country, including Seoul. Even in Seoul, where the number of electric scooters is 3.5850, problems are being exposed everywhere. In the case of Seoul, the guidelines for establishing the parking order for electric scooters were issued in September, but the parking disorder problem has not been resolved. Some local governments are preparing dedicated parking areas to solve the parking problem for shared electric scooters.
