The number of new confirmed corona19 cases surpassed 1,000 again in three days.

Special quarantine measures are being implemented during the end of the year and the New Year holidays, but there is no significant decrease.

The death toll increased by 40 in one day.

After the Christmas holidays, the number of new patients, which had dropped to 800, increased again, right?

At 0 o’clock today, there were 1,046 new cases in total.

238 people increased compared to the previous day.

Quarantine authorities said that excluding the 233 confirmed cases from the eastern detention center in Seoul, there are about 800. He said that if we take a closer look at the trend this week, it will be possible to determine whether the spread is continuing or expanding.

When looking at the route of infection, there were 1,030 domestic outbreaks and 16 foreign entries.

There are still many infected people in the metropolitan area.

Seoul 520, Gyeonggi 250 and Incheon 32 with 802 new patients.

In the non-metropolitan area, patients came from all 17 provinces across the country, including 30 in Daejeon, 29 in Daegu and 28 in Gyeongbuk.

Of the 16 confirmed foreign entries, 5 were confirmed during the quarantine stage.

The total number of additional deaths was 40, with the cumulative death toll of 859.

In response, quarantine authorities explained that it was the effect of the delay in reporting deaths during the Christmas season.

The number of patients with severe gastric disorders also increased from 35 to 330.

In the midst of this, yesterday a total of 48,000 tests were carried out in the temporary screening test in the metropolitan area, and 119 people were found in hiding.

The government has decided to extend the operation of the temporary detection audit office for another two weeks.

This is what Yoon Tae-ho, chief quarantine officer in charge of quarantine, said at today’s post briefing.

When asked if the number of confirmed cases is not decreasing due to the British virus, they replied that it is unlikely that the mutant virus is spreading in the community.

It is currently being tested in confirmed cases, but he emphasized that only three relatives who have recently entered the country have confirmed mutations.

He explained that the quarantine management network captured the confirmed person and identified the mutant virus after quarantine, and that there was no time for a route to be extended to the community.

However, he added that another family from England, suspected of being a mutant virus, is analyzing the entire genome.
