There is a conflict as Chinese and Russian bombers have invaded our air defense identification zone. The two countries are in the position that there is nothing wrong with international law, so this situation is expected to recur in the future. Before the launch of the Biden administration, China and Russia are in the form of solidarity for a joint response. Correspondent Kang Seong-woong reports from Beijing. China and Russia say their bombers fly over the East Sea as part of their patrol flight training. As for entering our air defense identification zone, we are not invading the airspace in compliance with international laws and without targeting any specific country. The defense ministry of both countries announced that four Chinese bombers and two Russian bombers participated in the training. This is less than our military’s announcement that a total of 19 military aircraft, including six bombers, were in and out. The training was announced as an annual event after last year and it was announced that it will take place annually. In the future, combined flights between China and Russia will be more frequent, and there is a possibility that tankers will participate. The Chinese mobilization of long-range Russian bombers into the East Sea appears to be a large measure of US containment. As the United States puts pressure on China along with Japan and Australia in the South China Sea, China joins Russia. The foreign ministers of China and Russia agreed to raise the level of response to the United States through telephone conversations. The foreign ministers of the two countries condemned the US unilateral sanctions and cooperated to defend common interests. However, the US military response to concerns about the threat from China continues. Recently, an American destroyer passed through the Taiwan Strait, as well as very close to a Chinese island in the South China Sea. In response, China rebelled by deploying aircraft carriers in nearby waters. China still hopes to work with the United States and the US Biden administration has not established a public policy. However, as the military battle between the two countries continues, we are not finding a breakthrough in improving relations. I am YTN Sungwoong Kang ([email protected]) from Beijing.
