It is the first among the private general hospitals in the northern province of Gyeonggi. Hyundai Hospital has a total of 375 beds, and employs more than 500 employees, including 240 doctors, including specialists (67) and nurses (173).
Hyundai Hospital plans to open 10 intensive care beds on the 26th and complete construction on January 15 of next year to provide a total of 119 beds, including 25 intensive care beds, 18 subcritical care beds and 76 mild patients. In particular, facilities are being expanded to allow kidney dialysis in negative pressure isolation rooms. In a phone call with the JoongAng Ilbo on the 21st, director Kim Bu-seop said: “We sent patients to Mokpo and Andong because there was no place for the patient to spend more than two days,” he said.
Hyundai Hospital has already treated Corona 19 patients since last March. In particular, for the treatment of seriously ill patients with Corona 19, medical equipment, including 15 respirators, was also purchased for 1.3 billion won. Director Kim explained, “Since the second pandemic in August, if we couldn’t send the patient to another location, we prepared it thinking we were in charge.”
There were voices of dissatisfaction with “I should do this like this” and concern about the loss of the hospital, but the staff followed Director Kim’s decision. “The loss problem is not a problem at all,” he said. He added: “We have also prepared five studies for employees with elderly parents,” he said. “If medical personnel and staff are safe from infections, patients can receive them too, and we will provide maximum support for support areas such as protective equipment.”
The biggest obstacle to organizing extra beds is labor. The hospital has requested additional staff to supply heavy water. Director Kim said, “We also hired additional internal respiratory medicine staff next month.” “Our medical staff have been trained for the last 10 months, but on the contrary, the accumulation of fatigue is severe. This is desperate. ”
