While the Corona 19 pandemic is not stopping, the government is preparing for the final stage of social distancing, a third stage of improvement.

As there is no place to retreat after entering the third stage, the government is looking for ways to harmonize the details and attract public participation and cooperation.

The number of new confirmed cases of corona19 is the highest in history and step 3 of social distancing has been raised.

The number of confirmed cases in Korea on average per day during the last week is 833, which has entered the range of more than 800 patients, which is the standard of the third step.

However, since the third stage has a great impact on society and the economy, the government is gathering opinions from various fields and refining the details of current quarantine regulations.

When the third stage is implemented, the operation of large markets and beauty salons will be suspended, excluding essential facilities such as stores and pharmacies.

However, the government’s concerns are deepening as various controversies have been raised, such as objections to these guidelines, what to do with special facilities like ski resorts, and even the view to ban eating and drinking in restaurants.

Additionally, since spread through contact with previously confirmed patients is increasing rather than group infection in recent years, measures to supplement quarantine guidelines are being discussed in line with this trend.

Three weeks ago, group infections were 40 and contact with pre-diagnosed patients was 25%, but recently it has reverted to 43:21.

Especially in the metropolitan area, the number of infected people is increasing through small-scale family and friend gatherings.

It remains to be seen how the government can prepare detailed and realistic quarantine guidelines, which caused the third pandemic, as the distancing guidelines based on the first and second pandemics did not follow the modified spread pattern.

The truth is that without the consent and participation of the public, this three-step measure can be just as difficult to achieve as the previous steps.
