With the massive spread of Corona 19, the number of infected increased rapidly every day and the beds in critical condition were almost full.

Quarantine authorities urgently decided to secure additional beds, but voices say the lifting of beds has become a reality.

The spread of group infections in everyday life rarely shows signs of fading.

Even over the weekend, when the number of tests dropped dramatically, the number of new confirmed cases reached 600 and the medical system was also on the edge of a cliff.

Of the critically ill beds nationwide, 45 are currently available for immediate hospitalization.

In the case of the metropolitan area, center of the 3rd pandemic, there are only 13 left, 7 in Seoul, 5 in Incheon and 1 in Gyeonggi.

Five provinces, including Daejeon, Chungnam and Jeonbuk, are already in the same state.

The concern is even greater as the hospital bed utilization rate is also hitting 80-90% nationwide, including 95% in Seoul.

On the 23rd of last month, the number of patients with severe gastric disorders rose from 79 in just two weeks.

Consequently, the current quarantine authorities are seeking cooperation with a hospital for the elderly to increase the number of beds in critical condition without additional medical staff.

In addition, in the case of hospitals that have beds but do not have medical staff and equipment, we plan to streamline resources.

Through this, we plan to increase the number of 177 dedicated treatment beds for critically ill patients to 274 in between.

The city of Seoul, with a fire in the instep, plans to operate 107 additional beds at Dongbu Hospital and Boramae Hospital, and prepare temporary container beds.

However, experts note that critically ill beds are difficult to secure due to time-consuming facilities and equipment to equip, as well as seasonal factors such as winter.
