Due to the rapid spread of Corona 19, Seoul has forced most stores to close after 9 p.m.

Reporter Hyung-won Lee covered the scenery of central Seoul on the first day of stopping due to the coronavirus.

The entrance to the complex shopping center, where hypermarkets, cinemas and restaurants are located, is now closed.

The great tree that illuminated the square had also disappeared.

[이정현 / 대학생 : 평소에도 원래 자주 왔던 데라 자연스럽게 와서 시간 맞춰 사진 찍자 하자고 했는데, 알고 보니 이렇게 불이 다 꺼져서 지금 너무 당황스러운 상황을 겪고 있습니다.]

The streets of Hongdae are the same.

The game room, which was packed with customers, shut down at 9 p.m. and several stores and PC rooms were also closed.

This is due to the strengthened quarantine measures of the Seoul Metropolitan Government in response to the unusual spread of Corona 19.

[정승호 / 직장인 : PC방은 24시간 하는 줄 알고 주말이고 할 것도 없어서 게임 하러 왔거든요. 지금 문이 닫혀 있어서 다시 나왔어요. (코로나) 발생자 수도 많아지다 보니깐, 이런 공공장소는 통제하는 것도 맞는다고 생각을….]

It stopped after 9 pm On the first day of implementation, all shops, academies, reading rooms and study cafes over 300m2 were shut down.

Only small convenience stores were opened so they could shop for daily necessities, and restaurants were also allowed to open package delivery businesses in locations less than 300m2.

Buses have decreased by 30% since 9pm, which is an hour longer than before.

[배동현 / 아르바이트생 : (버스 운행) 단축된 게 체감이 되긴 해요. 평소보다 조금 더 늦게 오는 거 같고…. 집에 빨리 가야 하는 데, 춥기도 하고, 날씨가 그렇잖아요.]

The metro will be reduced in operation from the 8th.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government’s emergency measures will continue until the 18th, targeting fewer than 100 confirmed cases per day.
