The cumulative confirmation of the new coronavirus infection outbreak (Corona 19) in Seoul surpassed 10,000 on the 5th.
It has been only 318 days since January 23, when the first confirmed case was reported in Seoul, is considered the “first day.”
According to the Seoul Metropolitan Government, at 0 o’clock on the 5th, the number of confirmed cases in Seoul was 9,951 and an additional 160 new cases were identified over 18 hours from that time to 6 p.m.
Consequently, as of 6 p.m. on that day, the cumulative total of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Seoul is at least 10,111, and the incidence rate of confirmed cases relative to the population is 104.0 per 100,000.
The cumulative total of 10, 100, and 1,000 confirmed cases in Seoul are on February 6, March 3, and June 8, respectively.
The number of confirmed corona19 patients in Seoul rose rapidly in August this year following the collective infection of the Sarangjeil church and the Liberation Day assembly, and then the spread of the corona19 slowed in September when they went into effect. measures such as strong social distancing.
However, in mid-October this year, when social distancing eased, the spread trend was revived as a tipping point and the rate of spread has accelerated ever since.
It took almost 8 months for Seoul’s cumulative total of 5,000 confirmed cases to reach 5,000 (Sept. 21), but after that, an additional 5,000 cases occurred in just two and a half months.
Recently, the government and the Seoul Metropolitan Government have tightened quarantine measures, but it seems that it is not enough to stop the acceleration of the spread.
In December, the beginning of winter, the number of new patients per day in Seoul is breaking a record.
The first, second and third places in the history of new patients in Seoul are the last three days, including the 3rd of this month (295), the 2nd (262) and the 4th (235). The fourth place in history was on the 25th of last month (212 people).
In particular, in recent years, not only have large-scale group infections emerged everywhere, but numerous small-scale transmissions that occur in everyday life are also spreading uncontrollably.
