The approval of the vaccine for the new coronavirus infection (Corona 19) in the United States is expected to occur in the third week of December.

According to the Washington Post (WP) on the 5th, Vice President Mike Pence, who leads the White House’s Corona 19 Response Task Force (TF), held a meeting with employees of the Georgia Emergency Operations Center in Los Angeles. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on the 4th (local time). “The corona vaccine will be approved in about a week and a half from now.”

Vice President Pence said, “The government wants to reaffirm that there has been no compromise in terms of the safety and efficacy of the vaccine,” and re-emphasized the policy of vaccinating 20 million Americans this year.

Vaccine approval proceeds in the order that recommendations are confirmed by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) expert advisory body, VRBPAC, and the FDA approves use.

The advisory committee will hold a meeting on the 10th of this month to make recommendations for the urgent use of Pfizer vaccines and then discuss ways to approve modder or vaccines on the 17th. The FDA plans to approve the use of the Pfizer vaccines and Modena within a week after the Council meeting.

“It depends on the results of the discussions in the advisory committee,” said Peter Marks, director of the FDA’s Center for Biological Evaluation and Research, at an online seminar organized by the American Medical Association. “I hope the vaccine will be approved within a week if all goes well after the meeting.”

If it goes according to the FDA plan, the Pfizer vaccine will be approved for use in the third week of December and the Modena vaccine can be started in the fourth week of December, even if it is late.

“We are fortunate that the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines are more than 95% effective,” Marks said. “It has to go through FDA review, but I’m glad these vaccines are very good.” He added: “Since the corona crisis is incredibly aggravating, the likelihood of the corona vaccine being approved for emergency use has become more apparent.”
