The fact that the replacement of Minister Kim does not mean a change in the keynote of the Moon Jae-in government’s real estate policy can be inferred from the fact that Byeon Chang-heum, chairman of the Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH), was appointed the new Minister of Lands, Infrastructure and Transport. Candidate Byun, former professor of the Department of Public Administration at Sejong University, served as chairman of the Seoul Urban and Housing Corporation (SH) for three years, from November 2014 to November 2017, in charge of supplying of public housing in Seoul. By leading the ‘Seoul-Style Urban Regeneration’ project with Kim Soo-hyun, former president of the Seoul Institute and former president of the Blue House, he paved the way for the ‘New Deal for Urban Regeneration’, a commitment by the administration Moon Jae-in. Kim Soo-hyun and the former chief of staff worked with the Seoul Institute from 1999 to 2003 at the Seoul Development Institute, which was the predecessor of the Seoul Institute. While working at the Seoul Institute, he was also the head of the supporting research team at Sangam Digital Media City (Sangam DMC) in Mapo-gu, Seoul and participated in the establishment of the Sangam DMC district plan. That is, instead of the ‘starter’ that was exhausted by the controversy over the failure of the real estate policy, the supply measures such as the 3rd new city and the metropolitan area 1.27 million units (8/4 countermeasures) and jeonse countermeasures (countermeasures 11/19) without problems. President Byun was chosen as the “saving pitcher” to be executed. The opposition party, which had been crying out for the replacement of Minister Kim Hyun-mi, is now showing negative reactions as candidate Byeon is the ‘Kim Soo-hyun division’. People’s Power spokesperson Bae Jun-young said: “People are not looking for politics that inspires new ideas and vitality, not Kim Soo-hyun’s split. There is great concern that they will follow the wrong policy. “The People’s Party made a comment that said,” I am concerned that hail will spill as rain clouds pass. “By Jin Myung-sun and Kim Mina, reporter for the personal [email protected]
