【Youth Daily】 Global idol group BTS (BTS) has reached the top of the US Billboard main singles chart for the first time with a Korean song.

Billboard announced on the 30th (local time) that BTS’s new song ‘Life Goes On’ had risen to No. 1 on Billboard’s top singles chart, ‘Hot 100’.

‘Life Go’s On’ is the title track of the new mini album ‘BE’ released by BTS on the 20th of this month, and most of the parts are in Korean except for the chorus.

This is the first time in the chart’s 62-year history that songs with Korean lyrics have been ranked No. 1 on the Hot 100 chart, which shows the most popular songs in the United States.

BTS digested some of the Korean lyrics on the ‘Savage Love’ remix, but because they participated in the featured song, the first place on their song ‘Life Go’s On’ is more significant.

Among the songs previously released by BTS in Korean, ‘ON’ took fourth place earlier this year and ‘Poetry for the Little Things’ took eighth place last year.

Billboard said: “This is the first time that non-English songs have reached No. 1 on the Hot 100 after Lewis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s Spanish song ‘Despacito.’

BTS recently released and participated in ‘Life Go’s On’ after the remix of ‘Dynamite’ and ‘Savage Love’, and they rank first on the consecutive Hot 100. This is a record of more than three months.

According to Billboard, this is No. 1 on the Hot 100 three times in the shortest time in 42 years since the soundtrack to Business’s “ Saturday Night Fever ” (December 1977 to March 1978).

BTS is the only group that has made their debut for ‘Hot Shot’ at the same time as their debut on the charts, which ranks first.

His number one debut after ‘Dynamite’ and ‘Life Go’s On’ can be interpreted as a sign that his popularity in America has expanded even further.

The members thanked fans by saying, “Always always, thank you ARMYs,” via their official Twitter account after the # 1 Hot 100 news was delivered.
