Simon Sanders, a former chief electoral field assistant, was appointed spokesperson for Vice President Kamala Harris, and Elizabeth Alexander, spokesperson from Vice President Biden’s day, was named Jill Biden’s director of public affairs. “We are proud to announce the White House’s first senior public affairs team comprised of women,” Biden-elect said in a statement. President-elect Biden, who has selected various races and genders to create an “administration that looks like America,” has consistently expressed his interest in women’s rights. Additionally, Carin Jean-Pierre, who served as the camp’s senior assistant, and Ashley Etienne were selected as Director of Public Affairs for the Vice President’s Office. The deputy director for Public Affairs is called Philly Toba, former Hispanic media officer of Democratic Party leader Chuck Schumer. Three out of seven are black and one is Hispanic.
