Seoul will intensively manage more than 4,000 air pollutant emission workplaces across Seoul from next month when the seasonal fine dust management system is implemented until March next year. Drones and mobile measurement vehicles are also introduced for repression.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 30th that it will carry out intensive inspections of 2,021 workplaces that emit air pollutants and 2,019 workplaces that generate fugitive dust to reduce emissions from the industrial sector, one of the three main sources of dust. fine in Seoul.

To this end, the Seoul Metropolitan Government operates 54 repression TFs in which autonomous districts, judicial police of civil life, health and environment research institutes and citizen participation monitoring teams participate.

2,021 workplaces that emit air pollutants are divided into excellent, general and critical management grades according to the number of violations as a result of the orientation and inspection during the last two years, and they are verified differently. Through the on-site inspection, check the licenses and permits of each commercial site, the operational status of the discharge and prevention facilities, and the working status of the environmental engineers.

Prior to this, the city of Seoul signed a voluntary reduction agreement with a total of 40 workplaces discharging 1-3 types of air pollutants located in Seoul. The company plans to set a goal to reduce pollutants by up to 50% and achieve the goal by adjusting the utilization rate.

In addition, to maximize the seasonal management system, support is also provided for the installation of prevention facilities and Internet of Things (IoT) that meet the enforced standards at small business sites. It plans to apply at 140 locations by the end of the year and install it at 170 locations next year.

In areas where laid-off workplaces are concentrated in Seoul and areas where fine dust is concentrated, a joint crackdown will be carried out with the Metropolitan Air Quality Administration. In particular, 6 locations, including Sindorim-dong in Guro, Yangpyeong-dong, Yeongdeungpo and Seongsui-ro in Seongdong, are measured using a mobile measuring vehicle.

The inspection of 2,019 workplaces that produce dispersed dust, such as construction sites, will also be reinforced. The city of Seoul verifies matters related to fugitive dust notification, fugitive dust suppression facilities, and environmental management at all workplaces with the autonomous district and the citizen participation monitoring team.

In particular, 5 types of old construction equipment will not be available at all commercial sites requested by the Seoul Metropolitan Government. In addition, a drone will be used to inspect job sites where site access is difficult or difficult to grasp at a glance, such as large construction sites and dense construction site areas. The City of Seoul imposes fines or administrative provisions when the emission limit is exceeded or violations are detected. It is a plan to get off.
