The court will hold an interrogation tomorrow on whether Attorney General Yoon Seok-yeol’s banning order issued by Justice Minister Chu Mi-ae will be suspended. President Yoon will not personally attend the trial, but fierce battles are expected to ensue over the legality of the impeachment process and suspicion of the judge’s inspection. Reporter Jeon Jun-hyung reports. If the return of Attorney General Yoon Seok-yeol, who was removed from his post by order of Minister of Justice Chu Mi-ae, will be tried tomorrow as soon as possible. The Seoul Administrative Court will hold a closed-door interrogation regarding the stay of execution against Minister Chu by President Yoon at 11 am tomorrow. Yun decided not to appear personally at the trial. Generally, the person concerned will not appear for the stay of execution questioning, and the process is expected to take place mainly in a court battle, so it was decided that it would be better for the lawyers to make a statement. Yoon said that the prosecution process violates due process and is also preparing a companion document pointing out the problems with the change in prosecution regulations. Previously, President Yoon submitted a request for a stay of execution to the court the next day when Justice Minister Chu Mi-ae ordered the exclusion of duties with a request for disciplinary action. Stay of enforcement is a court decision to temporarily suspend enforcement of the provision if there is concern about damage that is difficult to recover, and the result will be obtained the same day. If the court accepts the request, Yun can return to work immediately. However, even if a request for stay of execution is cited, it will only be withdrawn if the dismissal is resolved in the deliberation of the disciplinary committee two days later. Minister Chu announced that he would hold a disciplinary review committee on Wednesday the day after Yoon filed a suspension request in court. However, it is expected to be another variable as the Inspection Committee will first take place one day before the disciplinary committee opens. Earlier, when Minister Chu immediately tried to convene a disciplinary committee without consulting the supervisory commission, the supervisory commissioners strongly opposed it and decided to hold an emergency meeting. At the beginning of day 3, the Ministry of Justice revised the supervision rules and changed the advice of the supervision committee of the Ministry of Justice on the supervision of important matters to an option instead of a duty. Of course, the content of the Inspection discussions is not legally binding. However, if the prosecution committee concludes that the prosecution itself, which is the basis of the disciplinary action, is illegal and unfair, it appears that the disciplinary decision will carry a heavy burden.
