[전국]In Gongju, another group infection from a nursing hospital … “Same group isolation review”

Another cluster of infection occurred at a nursing hospital in Gongju, South Chungcheong Province.

15 people, including nurses, patients and caregivers, were confirmed to have Corona 19.

A plan is being considered to isolate the entire hospital into the same group.

This is a nursing hospital in Gongju City, Chungcheongnam-do, where the group infection occurred.

Last Friday night, a nurse and a nursing assistant who were on duty together were confirmed for the first time for Corona 19.

Both are said to have traveled to work because their home is Sejong City.

Immediately, the quarantine authorities performed diagnostic tests on 280 people, including patients and workers admitted to this nursing hospital.

Patients and caregivers tested positive in 6 hospital rooms.

The majority of confirmed patients are reported to be between the ages of 70 and 90 and have underlying conditions such as high blood pressure and stroke.

Some of the confirmed cases were transferred to Gongju Medical Center.

As it is a high-risk facility, the nursing hospital is being periodically investigated, but a group infection has reappeared.

Gongju City pointed to a problem with the hospital environment.

While a serial infection related to Asan Sunmoon University is ongoing, a series of group infections emerged from Chungnam.

Quarantine authorities said they still have space in the negative pressure room, but are discussing securing additional beds in preparation for the spread of the infection.
