549 confirmed at 6pm … At least 700 people tomorrow

The momentum of the ‘third pandemic’ of a new coronavirus infection in Korea (Corona 19) was even stronger, and on the 12th, confirmed patients appeared one after another from across the country.

According to quarantine authorities and local governments such as the Seoul Metropolitan Government, a total of 549 new confirmed cases were recorded across the country from 0 o’clock to 6 p.m. on that day.

This is 10 more than the total of 539 at the same time the day before. From the 5th to today, it is also the highest record in a week (459 → 451 → 516 → 481 → 507 → 539 → 549).

In particular, given that there is time until midnight, when the count closes, the number of new confirmed cases that are announced at 0 o’clock on the 12th is expected to rise further, reaching at least 700.

The day before there were 539 people at 6pm, but the result of the 12pm deadline was 950, a whopping 411 people increased by 6 hours. However, since this day is a weekend where the number of tests decreases compared to weekdays, the number of confirmed cases may not increase as much as the day before after 6 o’clock.

Of the 549 median counts for each city and province, 404 (37.6%) in the metropolitan area and 145 (26.4%) in the non-metropolitan area.

By province, Seoul 172, Gyeonggi 179, Incheon 53, Gyeongnam 22, Daegu 12, Chungbuk 9, Gyeongbuk, Chungnam, Gangwon 8 each, Gwangju and Daejeon 6, Jeonbuk 5, Ulsan 4, Jeonnam 3 people. There were no more confirmed cases in Sejong and Jeju.

As the third pandemic drags on, the increase in new confirmed cases is becoming more pronounced.

The day before this month, 451 people → 511 people → 540 people → 628 people → 577 people → 631 people → 615 people → 592 people → 671 people → 680 people → 689 people, continuing the range 400-600. It has shot up to 950. Excluding foreign inflows, there were 928 confirmed cases.

This increase is related to the growing scale of existing group infections, as well as new outbreaks appearing one after another across the country.

In the most important cases, the number of confirmed cases related to the Seongseok Church in Gangseo-gu, Seoul increased to 91, and ‘Pagoda Town’, a restaurant in Jongno-gu, Seoul, a singing class (230 people), a story in Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul (14 people) and a nursing hospital (66 people) in Bucheon, Gyeonggi-do. The number of confirmed cases related to daycare in Gunpo City, Gyeonggi Province (32 people) and other kinds in Gangneung City, Gangwon Province (18 people) is also increasing.

Additionally, a total of 9 people have been infected since the first patient occurred on the 10th at Catholic St. Mary’s Hospital in Seocho-gu, Seoul.
