The number of new confirmed cases of the new coronavirus infection (Corona 19) in the UK reached 50,000 for two consecutive days.
When the spread of Corona 19 caused by mutations did not abate, the British government decided to further strengthen countermeasures in each region.
The British government announced on the 30th (local time) that the number of new corona19 confirmed daily was 523.
After the pandemic (a global pandemic), it reached the 50,000 mark on the second day after the previous day (53,135 people), which recorded the highest daily.
Consequently, the confirmed cumulative number increased to 2,432,888.
On this day, 981 new deaths were added and the cumulative number of deaths reached 72,548.
The daily death toll is the highest since April, the peak of the first corona spread.
As the Corona 19 spread did not stop, the UK dramatically raised the response level by region on this day.
The UK is responding to the virus by dividing it from lowest level 1 to highest level 4 by region, taking into account various indicators such as the Corona 19 infection rate.
Health Minister Matt Hancock attended the House of Representatives today and announced that the Midlands, North East England, parts of North West England and parts of South West England will be upgraded from the previous three to four.
With that day’s announcement, 20 million people were added and 44 million people, or 78% of England’s total population, are now subject to the four-tier restrictions.
Existing phase 2 regions, such as Liverpool and North Yorkshire, will also convert to phase 3 from 31st.
In the third stage, businesses such as pubs and restaurants are prohibited and only delivery and packaging is allowed.
Indoor gatherings with other furniture are not allowed, and up to 6 people can only meet in outdoor public places like parks.
General stores, gyms, and beauty salons can also be opened.
Non-essential stores, hair salons, and hair salons are also prohibited at the strictest level of four.
You can only meet with a member of the same household or another member of the household, even in a public place outdoors.
The reason the UK response to Corona 19 is getting stronger is because of the mutant virus, which has up to 70% more transmission power than before.
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson told the BBC that 60% of confirmed Corona 19 cases in the UK are now infected with mutations.
When they pointed out whether the response to Corona 19 was too late, he said: “Unfortunately, we couldn’t make plans for this new mutation.”
“We know it will be very onerous for businesses and residents where steps 3 and 4 apply,” said Hancock.
