Quarantine authorities are eager to understand the infection path after 43 confirmed cases surfaced two days at a nursing hospital in Incheon, where all employees tested negative for recent coronavirus (Corona 19) infection.
According to Incheon City and Gyeyang-gu on the 3rd, the number of confirmed cases related to a nursing hospital in Gyeyang-gu, Incheon increased to 43 at 10:30 a.m. on the day.
The largest number of residents is 27 and the rest are 14 employees and another 2.
At the hospital, an additional 36 people were confirmed in a full examination conducted after 7 staff members, including nursing assistants and nursing assistants, tested positive for the first time the day before.
However, it is difficult to estimate the exact route of infection as all hospital personnel were confirmed to have tested negative for Corona 19 on the 24th of last month.
The hospital, which occupies the first to third floors of a 10-story building, has 113 beds in 36 rooms, including single and double rooms and shared rooms.
The hospital had a total of 147 people, including 75 employees and 72 residents.
A Gyeyang-gu official said, “The exact situation in the hospital is not yet known, but it appears that there are several floors where the hospital beds are crammed,” and said, “All the total examinations of the workers carried out until recently. they were negative. “
Consequently, the quarantine authorities have quarantined the entire first and third floors in the same group (cohort), and the exact route of infection is being identified through epidemiological investigations.
It also plans to transfer confirmed patients to a hospital dedicated to infectious diseases and a vital treatment center for those with mild cases.
Currently, 97 people are in quarantine at this hospital at 12:00 noon, of which 15 are waiting for a dedicated bed. The majority of quarantined personnel are reported to be elderly residents.
As of the evening of the previous day, 240 (57.6%) of the 417 beds dedicated to infectious diseases in Incheon are in use and 37 (77.1%) of the 48 beds are dedicated to seriously ill patients.
An Incheon city official said: “As beds are allocated one after another, the number of quarantines is constantly changing.
