The ‘social distance’ to respond to the new coronavirus infection in Korea (Corona 19) will be raised to 2.5 stages in the metropolitan area and 2 stages in the non-metropolitan area starting at 0 am on the 8th.

According to the Central Headquarters for Security and Disaster Countermeasures on the 7th, this ‘distance adjustment plan’ will apply for three weeks until the 28th.

The government increased the distance from the metropolitan area to 1.5 steps on the 19th of last month and 2 steps on the 24th, five days later, and from the 1st of this month the ‘Step 2 + α’ measures were introduced to additionally regulate some facilities multipurpose such as the sauna and the aerobics academy. I did it, but it didn’t work at all.

Consequently, it was decided to further increase the distance the day before, just five days after the implementation of the ‘second phase + α’ in the metropolitan area and step 1.5 in the non-capital area. Based on the 8th deployment, it’s only one week.

◇ Prohibition of operation of the metropolitan gym-school-karaoke room … Mart, cinema, etc., stop after 9 pm

The government raised the distance from the metropolitan area, where the expansion trend is severe, to 2.5 steps, and recommended that residents stay home, stop going out, meet and visit other cities, and refrain from visiting the facilities of multiple uses as much as possible.

As a result of the 2.5-step measure, 130,000 commercial establishments will be stopped in the metropolitan area and 460,000 operations will be restricted.

Specifically, in addition to the five types of entertainment facilities, direct sales promotion rooms such as door-to-door sales, singing practice rooms, indoor standing performance rooms, and indoor sports facilities are also subject to to collective prohibitions, that is, commercial prohibitions. Indoor sports facilities include a gym, indoor golf driving range and billiards.

Additionally, in order to minimize student dismissals during winter break, all academies were also suspended. However, considering that the 2021 university entrance examination is ongoing, classes related to entrance exams and training courses for the development of professional competencies were excluded.

Most general management facilities, such as hypermarkets, department stores, movie theaters, computer cafes, beauty and beauty shops, game rooms, and amusement parks, can only be open until 9pm. Tasting is also prohibited in shops, markets and department stores.

According to the measures in step 2.5, which limit the number of meetings and activities to less than 50 people, the number of users should be kept below 50 in wedding and funeral halls.

Sports competitions are held, but they must be played without spectators, and classes must be managed so that the interior density is one third.

Social welfare facilities are allowed to operate, but the number of people is limited to 30% (maximum 50 people) of capacity.

In addition, as the risk of ‘latent infection’ is high, it is mandatory to wear a mask both indoors and outdoors where it is difficult to distance more than 2 m between people.

◇ In areas outside the capital, entertainment facilities are suspended … Only packing and delivery in cafes

In the non-metropolitan area, the business of five kinds of entertainment facilities is prohibited due to the second stage of upgrade.

Direct sales promotion rooms, such as singing practice rooms, indoor stand-up performance rooms, and door-to-door sales, will be closed after 9 p.m.

The coffees can only be packed and delivered regardless of the time, and the restaurants are open until 9pm, but it is only possible to pack and deliver after that.

Quarantine management is strengthened in general management facilities.

In the case of indoor sports facilities, the number of people is limited to one for every 4㎡ (approximately 1.2 pyeong), and the operation is suspended from 9 pm.

Food intake is prohibited in bathrooms, cinemas, game rooms, multiplex halls, academies and vocational training institutions, and the number of users per area must be limited or the density must be reduced by “floating down”.

Due to the ban on meetings and events with more than 100 people, wedding and funeral halls are also limited to fewer than 100 people.

Spectators can enter the sports stadium, but the number is limited to 10% of capacity.

Each local government can adjust quarantine measures according to the situation.
