CEO Choi’s clarification on “internal dialogue expression, not title”
This morning, CEO Choi attended the national audit of the Small and Medium Business Corporation. That day, Congressman Ryu asked about the suspicion of having falsely entered the career certificate of the head of the central office of home shopping marketing.
Representative Ryu said, “To run as head of the marketing division, you must have 20 years of experience in a related field, but (the head of the relevant division) has less than 20 years of experience.” In a career certificate, “the contract period is until November 30, 2000. This is clearly false information.”
In this regard, CEO Choi replied: “The first qualification (experience) equals 20 years, but this person worked 19 years and 9 months and had 3 months to go.”
He added: “It was the same when I joined us 20 years ago, but when I joined the company, I joined as an apprentice,” he added. At this time, when Representative Ryu stopped saying, “That doesn’t allow false information,” Choi said, “For false statements” and “Hey.”
Representative Ryu immediately asked, “Hey?” With an embarrassed expression. However, CEO Choi continued to respond, saying, “I don’t think it was judged as a false description.” Representative Ryu turned off the microphone after the time of the investigation, and at that time, Representative Ryu did not raise a separate issue.
However, some controversy arose over CEO Choi’s statements that he was “rude.”
Justice Party spokesperson Jang Hye-young made a comment that day, saying, “(CEO Chang-hee Choi’s comments) is something that shouldn’t have happened in the first place.”
He stressed that “again, this behavior should never be repeated.”
Amid growing controversy over CEO Choi’s comments, Public Home Shopping clarified this day that “CEO Choi’s comments are not a title, but rather an internal dialogue.”
Gongyeong Home Shopping released a press release that afternoon, saying, “‘Hey’ is not an expression of the title to call representative Ryu.”
Meanwhile, Representative Ryu, born in 1992, is the first proportional representative of the Justice Party and is the youngest member of the 21st National Assembly.
