It turns out that our people are not very excited about the prospects for inter-Korean relations after the election of US President Joe Biden.

When YTN conducted a survey on what inter-Korean relations would be in the Biden era, it was predicted that nearly half would not make much of a difference, and one in four expected it to get worse.

Reporter Cha Jung-yoon reports.

Choosing Joe Biden’s stance toward North Korea is a way to first achieve gradual denuclearization through labor-level negotiations and then enter into dialogue with North Korea.

It is a clear difference from President Trump, who has proposed a solution through dialogue between leaders, the so-called “top-down” method.

How will our people forecast inter-Korean relations in the Biden era?

YTN commissioned Real Meter to investigate and predicted there would be no difference by about half.

26.5% said it would be worse and 16.4% said it would be better.

He is much more skeptical, without much anticipation.

There were some differences in perspective by political orientation, gender and region.

Among Democratic Party supporters, 33.4% of respondents said it would get worse, but 19.8% of supporters of people’s power showed a contrast.

23.1% of respondents who declared themselves conservative predicted that inter-Korean relations would be better, but 13.7% of respondents from the advanced class had a large difference in perspective.

By gender, 22.1% of men and 30.8% of women said it would be worse, with women being the most skeptical.

In the metropolitan area, 30.6% of those surveyed said ‘it will get worse’, compared to the non-metropolitan area with 22.4%.

On day 6, this survey was conducted with 500 men and women 18 years of age and older at the national level through wireless and wired networks, and the sampling error is ± 4.4% from the 95% confidence level.
