The power of the people presses in all directions

[기자]

Yes, the People’s Power yesterday submitted a request to conduct a state affairs investigation into the status of the suspension of Attorney General Yoon Seok-yeol.

The suspension of functions of the Minister of Justice, Choo Mi-ae, and the referral to the disciplinary committee should be investigated.

At the same time, the first legislators entered the one-man relay demonstration in front of the Blue House.

President Moon Jae-in must respond directly to this situation.

The first legislators planned to deliver a questionnaire requesting President Moon Jae-in’s position on the conflict between Minister Chu and President Yoon.

When the visit was rejected due to the coronavirus quarantine, and the delivery of the questionnaire was unsuccessful, a one-man protest was started.

Afterwards, Ho-young Joo, who visited the site, contacted Choi Jae-sung, CEO, and handed in the questionnaire.

Not responding to President Moon’s response or request for an interview, he said he would continue the protests.

The one-man protest that began yesterday afternoon continued until late at night and continues from dawn today.

The first elections are divided into three groups until tomorrow to continue the protests, pressuring President Moon to express his position and accept the national tide.

On the other hand, is the Democratic Party taking a cautious stance?

[기자]

Yes, the position of the Democratic Party is to await the results of the investigation of the Ministry of Justice and the Prosecutor’s Office.

Although CEO Nak-Yeon Lee first mentioned the state affairs investigation, he said he would take responsibility for what the National Assembly can do on important matters and decided to adjust the pace.

Chief spokesman Choi In-ho drew a line saying that the urgent thing now is to carry out the disciplinary process of the Ministry of Justice without delay, and that it is prohibited to investigate the state affairs of the case under investigation or trial.

At the same time, he criticized the power of the people by saying that this issue should not be treated as a game and that to use it as a political offensive issue is to take this issue lightly.

Spokesman Kang Seon-woo also noted that the prosecution’s suspicion of a judge’s inspection was raised through comments, but the power of the people is directing the arrow of criticism at the Ministry of Justice.

He asked if the Ministry of Justice had gathered this amount of information about the prosecution and if it would be released as a routine matter.

As the Democratic Party adjusts the pace in response to pressure from the popular power to investigate state affairs, the battle is expected to continue for the time being.
