As the situation on the Korean peninsula is expected to change rapidly after the US presidential elections, Unification Minister Lee In-young proposed restoring channels of contact with North Korea.

Regardless of the outcome of the US presidential elections, the head of the Office of National Security, Seo Hoon, stressed that he will work with the United States to establish a regime of peace and complete denuclearization in any situation.

On the day of the US presidential election, Unification Minister Lee In-young visited Panmunjom.

In commemoration of the visit of the Korean people to Panmunjom, which resumed after 13 months, Minister Lee proposed to North Korea to reopen the waters of inter-Korean relations.

They also urged free inter-Korean exchanges in Panmunjom and reunions of separated families.

He called him his beloved North Korean compatriot and appealed to the South and North to design a new time of peace.

With the changes in the situation on the Korean peninsula after the US presidential elections, the government emphasized that it will strive to advance the peace process no matter what the situation is.

North Korea has no position on the US presidential elections in the official media and maintains a prudent attitude.

The National Intelligence Service believes that lines with the United States, including First Deputy Foreign Minister Choi Sun-hee, are dedicated to establishing a strategy for dialogue in the United States.

In the midst of this, North Korea’s foreign propaganda media repeatedly emphasized special goodwill to China in line with the US presidential elections.

As North Korea and China are showing even more friendly relations in the face of the conflict between the United States and China, it is noteworthy how future negotiations between the United States and North Korea will affect.
