Since yesterday, the USFK has started vaccinating medical personnel at the Pyeongtaek, Osan and Gunsan bases, Gyeonggi-do.

The Defense Ministry has decided to conditionally allow vaccinations for Koreans in the USFK, including KATUSA soldiers, but the first vaccination is expected to start on the 4th of next month.

US forces in Korea that have entered the corona19 vaccination against command and medical personnel such as Commander Abrams at the Pyeongtaek, Osan and Gunsan bases, Gyeonggi-do.

The Koreans in the USFK, like the KATUSA soldiers, are also in a position to receive the vaccine if they wish.

However, it is inevitable that the government will be cautious about the government’s position, which has to consider responsibility for side effects after inoculating vaccines that have not been approved in Korea.

The Defense Ministry conditionally allowed Koreans in the USFK, like KATUSA soldiers, to receive vaccinations.

There are three main conditions.

First, the person receiving the vaccine should be informed of the possibility of adverse reactions and follow-up measures such as treatment.

Second, you must voluntarily choose your vaccine.

The third condition is that when the Korean government administers the vaccine, a vaccine list must be provided so that Koreans in the USFK can avoid duplicate vaccines and manage the history of adverse events.

In addition to KATUSA soldiers, the US government is also reviewing vaccines from CFCs, the combined forces command, air force component commands, and other personnel on missions in locations close to the USFK.

The USFK said it applauds the Defense Ministry’s decision and said it will be vaccinated in a few days to target USFK candidates.

As USFK medical personnel are the first to receive the vaccine, 40 KATUSA soldiers working at Pyeongtaek’s base, ‘Brian Allgood Hospital’, are expected to be the first Koreans to receive the vaccine.
