Additionally, the Democratic Party, government and Blue House held a meeting on the current Eulji issue and are discussing ways to support small business owners and independent workers who have been harmed by Corona 19.
At today’s meeting, it appears that measures to protect food service workers and others will be addressed by designating as a target of support for all small business owners, regardless of industry.
Let’s go to the scene.
[김태년 / 더불어민주당 원내대표]Early in the morning. I’m sure he’s very busy with Corona 19, but I would like to thank all the government and Cheong Wa Dae officials, including President Jo Sung-wook and Kim Sang-jo, who attended today’s conference.
Printing is new. I remember having a lot of parties or party meetings here in room 306 when I was chair of the policy committee. Probably dozens of times. It is a bit strange to attend as a representative of the hospital.
Today’s meeting is a place to discuss ways to improve the fair economy system to help overcome Corona19. As you know, the Moon Jae-in government’s economic policy is based on a fair economy on two wheels: inclusive growth and innovative growth.
In a sloping yard or in an unfair market, the creativity of economic actors cannot be expressed and the efficiency of the market decreases. Only when the fair economy is complete can you innovate and embrace the weak. In particular, a fair economic policy is urgent to protect economically disadvantaged people, such as small business owners and independent workers, who suffer from Corona 19.
Unfortunately, a series of laws for the realization of a fair economy are currently pending in the National Assembly. It is a shame that the 20th National Assembly was unable to adequately debate the amendments to the Fair Trade Law, the Trade Law and the Win-Win Cooperation Law.
At the 21st National Assembly, the Fair Economy legislative task will end with more active conversation and persuasion of the opposition. In addition to the amendments to the law, what you can do now must be done immediately.
There are many problems that the government can improve by changing the application rules and operating regulations, such as standard contracts and dispute resolution standards. Measures need to be found to alleviate the difficulties of small business owners, self-employed workers and small and medium-sized enterprises.
And as soon as the situation is urgent, we must promote it quickly. There is nothing more important for the National Assembly and the government than protecting the people.
I hope that everyone who attends today’s conference will debate with the urgent determination to protect people’s lives. Thank you.
