Do many people visit Jeju during this Chuseok holiday?

[기자]

Yes it is.

When I got to the airport, I could see a lot of people visiting Jeju, including most of the tourists and some returnees.

During the Chuseok holiday, which started today, 200,000 people are expected to visit Jeju.

Today, 49,000 people are expected to come to Jeju.

An average of 40,000 visitors per day are expected to be visited during the holiday season, which is equal to the average number of visitors per day during the peak season last summer.

Jeju Island believes that the holidays have already started since last Saturday and 300,000 people are expected to visit, including the Chuseok holidays.

From last Saturday until yesterday, more than 120,000 people have already visited Jeju.

Jeju Island requested that visitors refrain from visiting returnees during the Chuseok holiday due to Corona 19.

Tourists are believed to fill the places where returnees were missing.

Because of this, the airport scenery, which can be easily seen during the holidays, has also changed this year.

With few returning visitors, finding a happy family reunion at this Chuseok airport is not easy.

If there are so many people, quarantine will be a problem.

[기자]

Yes it is.

Today, not only at the airport here, but also at Jeju port, we are holding an event that distributes 10,000 masks to tourists.

While in Jeju, local residents and tourists ask to wear masks for their own health.

People arriving at the airport can see everyone wearing masks.

You can also see some tourists wearing transparent masks that cover the entire face due to the lack of masks.

Jeju Island has further tightened the quarantine in preparation for the Chuseok holiday.

We distribute quarantine supplies to 652 tourism companies and verify their quarantine status.

The Jeju Autonomous Police is also inspecting quarantine regulations and cracking down on violations.

From the 26th to the 4th of the following month, it is set as a special quarantine intensive management period, and all efforts are being made for the quarantine.

Special quarantine rules related to visitors are also prepared and enforced for a limited time.

Since last Saturday, all visitors to Jeju must observe quarantine regulations, such as wearing a mask, during their stay.

Also, if the body temperature exceeds 37.5 ℃, it is mandatory to undergo a corona19 diagnostic test and self-isolate in accommodation, etc., until results are obtained.

Failure to comply with these rules will result in a fine of up to 3 million won or a penalty for remedy in accordance with the infectious disease prevention method.

Jeju has been broadcast from outside without being infected with Corona 19.

For this reason, this Chuseok holiday, when many people visit it, is expected to be a milestone in the quarantine in Jeju.
