Although the spread of Corona 19 continues, fortunately, it has been found that the condition of hospital beds in the metropolitan area is gradually improving.

The number of patients waiting for a bed a day in the metropolitan area was once more than 500, but has now fallen below 100.

Only four people died waiting at home due to Corona 19 for a month in December.

Including nursing hospitals, there are dozens of people.

In the midst of an emergency to secure beds, quarantine authorities announced plans to secure a total of 10,000 beds and reached 99% of the target in two weeks.

In the metropolitan area, the number of patients waiting more than a day after receiving Corona 19 was once more than 500, but has now dropped significantly to 96.

We secured 7,760 additional beds for the life treatment center, 451 beds for the treatment of critically ill patients and 1,743 for the hospital dedicated to infectious diseases.

With the exception of hospitals dedicated to infectious diseases, all of them exceeded the goal, and the authorities plan to add 394 in this area through public offerings to private medical institutions.

As a result, hospital beds that can be immediately admitted across the country have improved significantly.

In the case of the metropolitan area with the highest number of Corona 19 patients, there are more than 5,000 hospital beds for life treatment centers, 400 hospitals for infectious diseases and 80 beds for critical patients.

For the efficient use of hospital beds, we will designate a person in charge of determining patient allocation for each medical institution and reasonably review the criteria for quarantine release.

In particular, authorities said they will strengthen their medical response capacity so that they can receive appropriate treatment even if more than 1,000 patients continue to occur per day.
