After three hours of the accident, a crew member was rescued and taken to a hospital, but eventually died.

A 12t-class fishing boat departing from Gunsan, Jeollabuk-do, was capsized 43 kilometers southwest of Soyeonpyeongdo, Ongjin-gun, Incheon.

Immediately after the ship capsized, a 58-year-old sailor was rescued by a nearby ship, but the remaining four, including the captain, were missing.

All of the missing sailors are Korean men in their 50s and 60s, and they are said to have been fishing on deck at the time of the accident.

The Coast Guard and Navy deployed 17 ships and 6 aircraft and mobilized up to 23 nearby fishing boats to search for missing persons.

Around 8:50 pm, approximately 3 hours after the accident, a sailor in his 60s who was unconscious at sea 8 km west of the accident was rescued and taken to hospital, but died.

The Coast Guard estimates that a nearby boat capsized in the process of mooring and pulling a boat in an accident that was unable to move due to a net.
