A committee was held today to decide whether to distribute a large amount of seawater to Saemangeum Lake in Jeollabuk-do, where the water quality has deteriorated.

Saemangeumho, an artificial lake that spans the Gunsan, Gimje and Buan Seas, North Jeolla Province.

It is designed to serve as the basis for the construction of a nearby waterfront city while supplying agricultural water to the surrounding agricultural lands.

To do this, the water must be clean above all else, and even after pouring over 4 trillion won over 20 years, the quality of the water has not improved.

This generated controversy over whether to distribute seawater in large quantities, which is why the focus was on the first Saemangeum Committee this year.

However, this time no conclusion was reached.
