Part of the ‘Myeong-min-ho’ hull, which was damaged after being overturned in the Jeju Sea, was rescued a week after the accident. A net hung around the lifting operation and at the stern to prevent the loss of missing persons. After five hours of work, Myeong Min-ho’s stern finally appeared out of the water. The hull that was raised the week of the accident was disastrous because the top of the boat was completely broken. At the time of the accident, the aft part, which is believed to have gathered five sailors, was also raised this time. After the salvage, the coast guard conducted a primary search, but unfortunately, no additional crew members were found in the hull. The Coast Guard plans to conduct a joint evaluation of the raised hull and initiate an investigation into the cause of the accident. At the same time as the rescue, the search for the missing persons continued. Another Korean sailor was found dead during a search for missing persons at sea near the breakwater. It is estimated that 1 in 5 crew members reported survivability in the aft side cabin. The number of missing crew members who have not yet been found even in the hull salvage was four, including a Korean sailor and three Indonesian sailors.
