The prosecution, which has been investigating the sexual assault case of the former Busan mayor, has requested a preliminary arrest warrant against the mayor of Oh Geo-don, and the warrant is being examined today (18).

The arrest warrant previously submitted by the police was dismissed, but it was reported that the prosecution applied it to the arrest warrant after detecting the alleged sexual harassment against another victim.

It is known that there is another female victim behind the prosecution’s request for an arrest warrant.

The sexual harassment and attempted sexual harassment are reported to have occurred in November and December 2018.

Prosecutors believe Mayor Oh was trying to destroy the evidence.

The prosecution, which obtained the relevant transcripts, carried out an investigation and a seizure search of the people around the mayor.

Then, on the 15th, the next day, after a subpoena investigation by the former mayor, a prior arrest warrant was requested.

It is said that the charges applied by the prosecution did not include the charges of violation of the electoral law, which established that the resignation period was adjusted so as not to affect the election.

Previously, the police launched an investigation into the case of forced harassment of a female employee at the office, which led to the resignation of the former mayor, and issued an arrest warrant last June on related charges.

However, the court dismissed the order, saying that all the evidence was secured and Mayor Oh admitted the crime and there was no fear of destroying the evidence or fleeing.

When the case was handed over to the prosecution in August, the police explained that no specific charges have been proven other than that of forced harassment of the office.

The former mayor also admitted the alleged harassment from the press conference with resignation, but has flatly denied the rest of the charges, including the additional sex crimes.

This is part of the focus on what the court will decide on the charges brought by the prosecution for further investigation.
