[전국]Concerns Come True … Sequential Infections During Lunar New Year Gathering

During the Lunar New Year holidays, when gatherings of more than 5 people were banned, cases of group infections of relatives were confirmed across the country.

The infection spread to co-workers of confirmed patients, but after the holidays, our quarantine has been a heavy burden.

Families visit their parents’ home in Yeongdo-gu, Busan for the Lunar New Year holidays.

Six people got together in a house and went back to their daily routine after spending some time, but a diagnostic test revealed that all members of the family were infected with Corona 19.

The infection spread to the whole family after spending the holidays as before, without following the quarantine rule that prohibits gatherings of 5 or more people.

As such, three cases of Corona 19 spread through family gatherings during the Christmas season alone were confirmed in Busan.

In Busanjin-gu, 7 out of 10 families were confirmed, and in Nam-gu, Busan, 6 family members were confirmed.

The infection through family gatherings has also been confirmed to have spread to 7 co-workers and their families after the holidays.

There are cases of confirmation after vacation family reunions all over the country, including Bonghwa, Gyeongbuk, Jinju, Sejong, and Chungbuk, etc.

Quarantine authorities plan to impose a fine of 100,000 won per person on family members who violate quarantine regulations and review requests for reimbursement based on the results of the investigation.
