The H5 avian influenza virus has also emerged in Naju, Jeollanam-do, where more ducks are raised in Korea. Up to 3 million chickens and ducks are raised within a 10 km quarantine radius; an emergency has occurred. This is Na Hyun-ho. The officials wear quarantine uniforms and enter the duck farm. Disinfectant is sprayed on farms and rivers around wild birds, and sweated for quarantine. This is because avian influenza type H5 antigen was detected in a fattening duck farm. Quarantine authorities controlled access to the farm and buried more than 30,000 ducks. The problem is that Naju, Jeollanam-do, where the AI virus emerged, is the largest duck producing area in Korea. Nearly 3 million chickens and ducks are raised on 65 farms within a 10 kilometer radius of the suspected farm. Because of this, nearby farms waiting to be judged for high pathogenicity are very nervous. Previously, a highly pathogenic AI was produced at a meat duck farm in Yeongam, Jeollanam-do. The virus was detected in a total inspection of 60 farms of the same subsidiary. AI can usually be predicted when high pathogenicity is confirmed on a farm as it is the same affiliate company that will be added in a week. In Jeollanam-do, if the Naju duck farm AI virus is confirmed to be highly pathogenic, it plans to expand burial farms to a radius of 3 km. Quarantine authorities are working hard to block quarantine to prevent more AI from appearing on farms that do not have any epidemiology.
