In Cheonan, Chungcheongnam-do, the trial court sentenced a stepson to 22 years in prison for a stepmother who was brought to trial for confining her stepson in a travel bag.
The judge admitted the crime of homicide, saying that the outcome of the defendant’s death by assault was predictable enough.

The Cheonan Section of the Daejeon District Court sentenced Mr. A to 22 years in prison, saying he was found guilty of murder.
The judiciary said that the defendant was able to fully recognize and predict the occurrence of death as a result of the assault on the victim, and that the unwritten intent of the murder was recognized.
In addition, he explained that it seems that the crime was committed out of anger and resentment that erupted in a situation in which the conflict with the biological father of the victim was aggravated.
The defendant’s reflective statement presented dozens of times was also mentioned, saying it was coherent as an excuse and it was questioned whether he was really repenting and reflecting.
The judge said the crime was brutal and there was no sympathy for the victims who suffered severely.
In the process of reading the sentence, the judge was unable to speak several times and tears broke out in the courtroom.
However, the court did not accept the order to put on an electronic anklet requested by the prosecution, saying that the risk of the defendant committing the crime again appears low.
The survivors of the victims said the ruling from the first trial was insufficient to pay the penalty.
