An army unit in Daegu regulated outsider access and prohibited troop members from going out or staying overnight when a confirmed Corona 19 appeared in a nearby area.

However, it turned out that the commander was actually playing golf with outsiders outside the unit.

The main door of an army unit in Daegu was firmly closed.

At the other entrances, guards in quarantine uniforms carefully check the soldiers’ entry approvals.

Access control began on the 22nd of last month when a confirmed corona19 came out at a nearby elementary school.

As there are primary school students among the soldiers’ children, the unit is also in an emergency.

The troops strictly controlled the entry of outsiders and prohibited the soldiers from leaving and spending the night.

Executives off campus were ordered to refrain from contacting outsiders after hours and to wait in their accommodation.

However, the commander of this unit slowly left the unit and met with outsiders two days after the soldiers were prevented from entering.

I played golf on weekends at the nearby military senior golf course.

When this fact became known, complaints erupted among the soldiers.

[해당 부대 장병 : 나는 밖에 좀 나가려고 하면 지휘관이나 부서장한테 승인서를 받아서 나가야 하는데 자기네들은 그냥 쓱 나가서 운동하고 하면 어느 장병이 지휘관을 믿고 따라가겠느냐 이거죠.]

The unit clarified that the soldiers who communicated with the confirmed patients were judged negatively and that there were no instructions prohibiting the use of the golf course.

He added that the commander made an effort to ensure safety, such as going directly to his car.

However, considering Corona 19’s incubation period, many point out that the commander’s actions were inappropriate.

In particular, the commander, who forbade his subordinates to go out or stay overnight, saying he would avoid the influx of Corona 19, was far from leading the way and has a considerable influence on the morale of the soldiers.
