In the middle of the night, a motel fire broke out in central Seoul, killing two people and wounding nine. It was investigated that a guest set fire to the motel for not giving alcohol, but CCTV caught him running to a nearby store and calling for an ambulance. Reporter Kim Woo-jun reports. Smoke comes out with a flame of fire. Rescuers rush the unconscious victim. Around 2:40 am, a fire broke out in a motel in Gongdeok-dong, Seoul. The fire that started on the first floor quickly moved upstairs. As it is a three-story building, no sprinklers were required to be installed in buildings larger than 6 stories. There were 14 people in the building, including staff and guests. Eleven of them were taken to hospital for smoke or burns, and two others, including 43-year-old Kim Mo, died without regaining consciousness. The cause of the fire is arson. It turns out that A, a man in his 60s who stayed downstairs for a long time, set a fire because the motel manager didn’t give him alcohol. Immediately after the fire, Mr. A, barefoot and in his underwear, ran to a nearby store, which was captured by CCTV. He said he was sick and asked the store staff to call 119 and went to an ambulance. On the way, he confessed to the crime and was arrested by the police. The police requested an arrest warrant for Mr. A by applying the charges of arson and lethality.
