Has any LH employee been summoned this morning?

[기자]

As of the last lunch break, no additional staff has been called in.

Police policy of summoning and investigating the remaining suspects today, tomorrow and weekends is said to have not changed.

The Gyeonggi South Police Agency’s real estate speculation investigation team is working in the morning to investigate the speculation allegations.

We continue to analyze data such as confiscated property along with the statements of three LH employees called yesterday.

Currently, there are 15 LH employees who have been the subject of a police investigation, including 13 current employees and 2 former employees.

They are being investigated as suspects under the Anti-Corruption Law and have been captured, searched and banned from leaving the country.

Police plan to call all LH personnel next week to investigate and then decide whether to summon more or handle recruits.

As three people were first called to investigate, it is observed that the timing and direction of the employee hiring treatment may differ depending on the analysis situation.

Explain how the investigation of the first three employees called yesterday unfolded.

[기자]

Yes, of the three people who were summoned yesterday, the most notable is Mr. Kang Mo, who was in charge of compensation at the LH Gyeonggi Regional Headquarters.

Mr. Kang was present around 10 am yesterday and was surveyed for approximately 8 hours.

Kang is found to have bought most of the land for the planned development of the third new city in Gwangmyeong and Siheung among the employees who have been suspicious so far.

From 2017 until recently, 10 lots of inhabited land, both inside and outside the new city, totaled 6.4 billion won.

Kang, who came out after the police investigation, briefly responded to the reporter’s question about whether he would admit to the speculation charges, saying, “I answered honestly.”

Police intensively investigated whether they used trade secrets to buy the planned site in the new city against Mr. Kang, and are said to have denied the speculation allegations.

The police also called and investigated two people, including Mr. Kim Mo, an employee of LH’s Gwangju Jeonnam Regional Headquarters.

Kim, along with five former employees, bought the land in Noonsa-dong, Gwangmyeong-si in 2018, and is under suspicion of so-called ‘Jeonbuk expedition speculation’.

It is known that Mr. Kim and others, such as Mr. Kang, made a statement with the intention of denying the allegations of speculation.

Police, which have obtained some of the data necessary to prove the allegations, are focusing their investigative power on finding out how they leaked information about the development and how they used it to speculate.
