[사회]Seoul Middle and High School Distance Learning Conversion … “Communicate with Monitor Again”

[앵커]

As the spread of Corona 19 rarely stops, all classes of all grades in the middle and high schools in central Seoul will be held remotely for two weeks starting today.

Both teachers and students are familiar with distance classes, but again, it’s a shame that we have to get to know them only through the monitor.

Reporter Eom Yun-ju reports.

A high school in Songhyeon-dong, Seoul.

In an empty classroom, the teacher looks at the camera and shouts the names of the students.

Until last week, about 40 students attended school every day, a third of each grade.

However, as all grades of middle and high schools in Seoul have been converted to distance classes, only the teacher’s voice can be heard in the classroom, which has been packed with students.

This is a practice room for woodworking classes.

To the side, you can see the cutting boards the students have made here.

Now, the class is conducted chatting in real time through the computer screen.

The teacher returned for the weekend to prepare for a more difficult distance class.

In case students lose focus, they constantly ask questions while showing interesting facts.

I cannot hide my regrets because I cannot speak face to face.

Children who have become used to online classes as usual.

However, I still miss the times when I had a class and talked to my friends.

[정예인 / 서울 덕성여중 3학년 : 이젠 되게 익숙하고 아무래도 더 일상같이 느껴지는 것 같아요. 학교에서 직접 동아리 활동을 하거나 교실에서 직접 수업을 하는 거 자체가 되게 사소한 것도 그리워요.]

This year, we are on winter break without having to enjoy a full school life.

Everyone is waiting for the current Corona 19 to end as soon as possible to regain their dream day to day.
