Just hours before the announcement of President Yoon Suk-yeol’s disciplinary action, the Seoul Central District Prosecutor’s Office handed over Mr. Yoon’s mother-in-law, Choi Mo, to trial in a crippled state.

He is accused of fraudulently charging billions of won health care benefits while operating an illegal nursing hospital, and full investigations are continuing for his family beyond President Yoon’s personal appearance.

The Seoul Central District Prosecutor’s Office indicted Mr. Choi Mo, President Yoon Suk-yeol’s mother-in-law, on charges of illegal supply and demand at a nursing hospital.

It has been a month since Justice Minister Choo Mi-ae issued the order to exclude President Yoon from investigations related to the family and investigate thoroughly.

Choi was charged with violating medical law and fraudulent under the aggravated punishment law for certain economic crimes.

The prosecution said that Choi established an illegal medical foundation in Paju, Gyeonggi-do without the qualifications to open a medical institution in 2012, and illegally burned 2.2 billion won in health care benefits in two years.

Previously, despite the convictions of his business partners, the police did not ask Choi why he received a memorandum of disclaimer for the operation of the hospital, but the prosecution decided differently.

Before the disclaimer memorandum was written in May 2014, it appears that Choi was already involved in the crime, so the subsequent promise did not affect the establishment of the crime.

Choi has repeatedly called for resentment, adhering to the earlier claim that he had never been involved in running the hospital.

The suspicion that Yoon had neglected the case related to Jangmo Nursing Hospital was also investigated against the investigators at the time, but they said there was no confirmed fact.

Yun remained silent regarding his mother-in-law’s prosecution.

The Supreme Prosecutor’s Office also stated that there is no plan to enter a separate position because it happened before Yoon took office.

The Seoul Central District Prosecutor’s Office is also investigating the suspicion of receiving illegal endorsement funds for the exhibition planning company run by Kim Kun-hee, so the possibility of further prosecution of the president’s family cannot be ruled out. Yoon.
