A group of illegal mask makers targeting the so-called ‘Special Crown’, whose mask sales volume is increasing, has been captured.

Consumers were misled with a technique that only packaged them from licensed companies and sold them with unlicensed masks.

A factory in Gumi city, Gyeongbuk, where the mask-making facilities are installed.

One side of the factory is full of unwrapped masks in large plastic bags.

Masks that have not yet been manufactured are stacked in the production facility.

This company has produced 10 million KF94 masks for four months since the end of June without obtaining permission from the Ministry of Food and Pharmaceutical Safety.

The masks produced were distributed in packaging supplied by three KFDA licensed companies.

Only 402 million unlicensed masks were sold fooling consumers with packaging.

Revenue reaches 4 billion won.

This mask is not approved by the Ministry of Food and Pharmaceutical Safety.

It was distributed in the packaging of a licensed company, but it is apparently difficult to distinguish it from the mask of the licensed company.

However, if you carefully compare the two products, the finish that touches the nose and the arrangement of the patterned circles on the mask are slightly different.

The Ministry of Food and Pharmaceutical Safety arrested Mr. A, the producer’s representative, accused of violating the Pharmaceutical Affairs Law, and handed over four people, including those from the company that supplied the packaging, to the prosecution for lack of respect.

The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety plans to track down and recover the 6 million masks manufactured and sold by Mr. A’s group, whose distribution channels have not yet been identified.
