Lime Asset Management’s situation is spreading beyond financial fraud to suspected political lobbying.

Passport officials named as lobbyists publicly refuted that they had nothing to do with Lime, but the prosecution launched a subpoena investigation to confirm the facts.

In the summer of last year, Lime Asset Management was even tested by the Financial Supervision Service when faulty trades and blocked returns were revealed.

The suspicion that former Star Mobility president Kim Bong-hyun, known as Lime’s ‘money line’ for the situation, is shaking the political circle.

In response to former President Kim’s claim that 50 million won was given through former Star Mobility CEO Kang-se Lee, former Blue House political director Kang Ki-jeong even filed a complaint with the prosecution on charges of perjury and defamation.

Former Chief Kang refuted that it was okay to meet Lee at the Blue House, but that he did not receive a penny.

In addition to former boss Kang, there are other figures mentioned in President Kim’s alleged lobbying.

Democratic Party lawmaker Lee Dong-min was subpoenaed by the prosecution late last month on suspicion of receiving high-quality political funding and demands.

It is also known that Kim Young-chun, Secretary General of the National Assembly and Proportional Representative of the Democratic Party Lee Su-jin, has also been notified of the subpoena from the prosecution.

Earlier, Rep. Dong-min Lee denied the allegations, saying that he had never met former President Kim and had not received political funding.

Secretary-General Kim Young-chun also released a statement saying that he had nothing to do with the Lime case and wished the facts could be clarified through the prosecution’s investigation.

While interest is focused on how much the allegations raised by the prosecution’s investigation will be resolved,

The opposition party has argued that special prosecution is needed, saying the prosecution has been prompted by public opinion and is now entering the investigation.
