The Korean Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) said that in explanatory data on the temporary suspension of the national influenza vaccination project today, 873 cases were reported in 14 regions as of yesterday.

By region, Jeonbuk was the largest with 279 cases, followed by Gyeongbuk 126 cases, Incheon 86 cases, Busan 83 cases, Chungnam 74 cases, Seoul 70 cases, Sejong 51 cases, Gyeonggi 49 cases, Jeonnam 31 cases, Gyeongnam 10 cases, Jeju 8 cases, Daejeon 3 cases, 2 cases in Daegu, 1 case in Chungbuk, etc.

As investigations continue, the vaccination area and the number of vaccinations are expected to increase.

On the 21st, the Agency for Disease Control and Prevention confirmed that Shinsung Pharmaceutical, a nationally procured supply provider, did not adhere to the principle of “ refrigerated distribution, ” such as opening the door of a refrigerated car or leaving the product on the floor in the vaccine delivery process. At a Jeonju hospital, the 8-month-old boy was vaccinated against the flu and was admitted to the intensive care unit.

The Korean Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) said symptoms of weakening of the muscles of the lower extremities in hospitalized children are improving compared to those who were at the time of admission, but it is required follow-up in the future and epidemiological investigations are underway on the condition and cause.
