As the hours of operation of bars and restaurants have been extended due to the relaxation of the quarantine stage, there is a growing concern that drunk driving is also increasing.

Over the next month, the police plan to strengthen the crackdown in Seoul to prevent drunk traffic accidents.

In time for the restaurant to close, the police began to crack down on alcohol consumption.

And soon after, an alarm sounded indicating that alcohol was detected in a car.

“Would you like to ruin it? Whoops! Please get down.”

This man’s blood alcohol level was 0.115%, the level of license cancellation.

A woman driving a luxury sports car while drunk on the other side of the road was caught in the crackdown.

“Brush, break! More, more, more! You have to break hard! That’s a 0.094 license revocation number.”

After an unlicensed drunk driver is discovered, he or she rides with the police, or

“If you say you refuse (the measurement), we will proceed with the process, and if you do not comply there, the current criminal will be arrested.”

Some drivers fled the crackdown entirely.

Immediately after the quarantine stage is relieved, drunk driving tends to increase in a relaxed environment.

In fact, alcohol-related traffic accidents were found to have risen by as much as 26.3% before and after easing quarantine measures last year.

Police plan to carry out an emergency crackdown on alcohol use in Seoul over the next month using non-contact alcohol detectors.

In addition, the growing number of motorcyclists, bicycles and electric skateboard riders also plan to check whether they drink alcohol without exception.
