Former chief prosecutor Kim Dae-hyun, who was the author of the late prosecutor Kim Hong-young, who made an extreme decision four years ago with violent remarks and assaults, was turned over to trial late.

Prosecutor Kim’s family said they wanted a new milestone in eradicating workplace bullying.

The late prosecutor Hong-young Kim made an extreme decision by leaving a suicide note in 2016 while working at the Seoul Southern District Prosecutor’s Office.

What led to the second-year prosecutor’s death was the usual spiel and assault by former chief prosecutor Kim Dae-hyun, who was his superior.

The indictment came out on a late indictment, but the investigation was not properly conducted for a year, and in the end, at the request of Prosecutor Kim’s family, the Investigation Review Committee was convened.

The prosecution accepted the Investigation and Deliberation Committee’s recommendation to prosecute the assault charges and, after four years, former Chief Prosecutor Kim was handed over to trial on a disabled basis.

She is accused of assaulting prosecutor Kim on the back five or six times during dinner, repeatedly hitting Kim’s back five or six times, or hitting her on the back while reprimanding her work.

However, it did not apply to the coercion charges or the offensive remarks reprimanding them for obtaining a space to eat in the wedding hall.

The prosecution’s judgment is that the crime of coercion is not legally established, the accuser is not legal for the crime of injury and that the term of the complaint has passed even if the survivors sued.

Regarding the alleged defamation, the prosecution explained that it is difficult to say that it was defamatory in a timely manner.

Prosecutor Kim’s family said it was fortunate that the criminal punishment was carried out late and said they hope it will become a new milestone in the eradication of workplace harassment.

In addition, he added that he plans to present a written opinion on the part not processed so that it is reflected in the sentence of the accused in the trial.

The prosecution, which ended the case four years after the death of Kim Hong-young and a year after the indictment was filed, said it would do everything possible to improve the organizational culture of the prosecution so that this does not happen again. .
